We won't starve in Herne Hill

 Oceano at 87 Norwood Road. A wet fish shop to replace Cape Clear.

Oceano is run by a Madeiran Portuguese gent called Antonio Freitas. Feeling flush I bought some fresh scallops which were delicious. Wrapped in prosciutto crudo and pan fried in butter as it happens.

Same guy, Antonio Freitas, who runs O Girasol in West Norwood.

At the other end of the drag, and a bit down hill, note, is The Best Kebab, next to Fruit Garden on Railton Road. OK,  it is burgers and kebabs but I am partial to a properly prepared and cooked shish kebab and salad from time to time.

These looked good to me but I have yet to try. Reports please.

Went to the Best Kebab yesterday. There's quite a nice looking restaurant in the back they were putting the finishing touches to. Bit more expensive than average but isn't everything in HH??? Food was nice. staff friendly. Was a much more pleasant and tasty experience that the other option on Norwood Road.
