Following on the success of our 'Xmas Fayres', the first of a regular series of street markets in Railton Road is planned to take place on Sunday 1 July.
This is according by Cllr Jim Dickson (via Twitter), although there's no confirmation yet on the Herne Hill Forum website.
The Forum has been working hard with the Traders and Lambeth Council and the markets will be monthly at first, with potential for development if they are popular.
We hope you'll agree this is a venture that needs to be supported by Herne Hill residents.
ps
Lambeth Council has approved the closure of Rymer Street next to Herne Hill station on Sunday 3 June for the Diamond Jubilee celebrations.
Try local food and music, meet resident and local traders, and enjoy a fun day at the Rymer Street party. Families welcome. Contact [email protected]
Is there a contact for prospective traders? I would like to pass this on to a couple of people who I believe would very much enjoy being a part of this.

Hi - perhaps I was a bit premature with this. I picked up an a tweet from Councillor Jim Dickson. Although there have been plans for a long time to start a regular market I note that there is nothing yet on the Herne Hill Forum site to confirm this date, see http://www.hernehillforum.org.uk/news/update-railton-road-new-market
We'll be looking into it
